Very special and "Old" are appropriate adjectives when applied to this KWV Brandy. It is produced by pure copper potstill distillation from carefully selected wines derived from the recognized brandy grape cultivars grown in the best suited areas of the Cape Winelands, in terms of soil, climate and location. It is backed by the tradition and skills of 300 years of viticulture in South Africa. it is aged for at least ten years in oak casks in the brandy maturatino cellars of the KWV.

In the mid 1970's, international trends and local market conditions were calling for a brand of beer with Germanic heritage. SAB responded with the launch of Hansa Pilsener in November 1975. As a completely new beer style in South Africa, Hansa had the special attributes of being light, drinkable, refreshing and thirst quencing.

Built on a 300 year hiritage, KWV 5 Year Old Brandy is quality in a bottle. The smooth, amber coloured liquid, is produced from carefully selelcted wines, double-distilled in copper potstills then followed by 5 years of maturation in small oak casks. Renowned for its versatility, this brandy is a celebration of the art of blending by KWV's renowned brandy masters.
