Based in Franschhoek, in the heart of South Africa's wine district, Leopard's Leap crafts its wines from the finest grapes picked from the best vineyards in the Cape winelands, home to the magnificent Cape Mountal Leopard. Soft and medium-bodied this wine reflects the distinctive characteristics of both varietals in the blend. Plum and mulberry flavours are supported by vanilla undertones while the character is spicy and peppery, with a firm tannin structure. An ideal companion with oxtail, roast pork or hearty stews, as well as liver, quiche or cold meats. Leopard's Leap is also a proud sponsor of The Cape Leopard Trust, which seeks to protect the magnificent Cape Mountain Leopard. The endangered leopards make their home in part of the Cape winelands.
Internationally renowned winemaker, Beyers Truter made this full-bodied and complex wine that best represents the indigenous features of Pinotage. The blackberry and cassis flavours are well balanced with the French oak maturation character. It can be enjoyed now, but the richness will develop even further for up to fifteen years. Ideal with venison, red meat and spicy foods.
