This refined varietal unwooded Chardonnay is produced to be an elegant, medium bodied win with an abundance of tropical fruit and lime flavours. This wine is at its best with seafood, poultry, light meals and salads.
Dr Alfred Baumgartner and his colleagues at The Bergkelder developed the original Grunberger in 1953. It was inspired by the famous German wines from the Rhine Valley, an area rich in romanticism and mythology. The clearly identifiable rounded shape of our "bocksbeutel" sets Grunberger apart from all other wines. Grunberger was positioned as the Prince of Wines and with its intense flavours and enhanting aromas it has the unique ability to excite the senses.
This wine shows vibrant fruit on the nose and palate enhancing its immediate drinkability and lovely finesse
This wine, classic in style, was grown and produced on the hsitoric meerlust Estate which has been owned by the Myburgh family for eight generations. It will complement fine food and benefit from further ageing.
