Based in Franschhoek, in the heart of South Africa's wine district, Leopard's Leap crafts its wines from the finest grapes picked from the best vineyards in the Cape winelands, home to the magnificent Cape Mountal Leopard. Soft and medium-bodied this wine reflects the distinctive characteristics of both varietals in the blend. Plum and mulberry flavours are supported by vanilla undertones while the character is spicy and peppery, with a firm tannin structure. An ideal companion with oxtail, roast pork or hearty stews, as well as liver, quiche or cold meats. Sourced from hand-harvested fruit in the acclaimed Stellenbosch region, this Malbec exhibits an abundance of dark berry fruit supported by a well-structured palate and fine-grained tannins. Having been matured for 15 months in French oak barriques, this wine will benefit from further maturation under ideal cellaring conditions and will pair well with red meat.
